The NCUB is dedicated to growing the prosperity and wellbeing of the UK through world-class collaboration.

In 2012, Sir Tim Wilson called for the establishment of a new centre for university-business collaboration. The Council for Industry and Higher Education (CIHE) was asked to take on responsibility for developing it.

Twelve months or so later, we are launching the National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB).

The centre has the support of many senior corporate leaders and their companies, as well as Vice Chancellors and their universities. For anyone who cares about the development of talent in our higher education system, the rapid advancement of innovation-led economic growth, and the celebration of all that is great about businesses and universities working together –  the National Centre is your Centre.

Over time, we will develop the networking tools on this site and its mobile companions to ensure that we facilitate great conversations, broker high quality placements, spark debates and help  industrialists and entrepreneurs shake hands digitally and physically with researchers and academics.

For the past ten years the UK’s universities have been engaged in a dialogue about how to increase their impact on the UK’s economy and society, and companies have been looking for more and better ways of engaging with higher education. For everyone involved concerned about co-operation, welcome to the Centre.
