People, Skills & Talent
A strong education system, matched to the talent needs of employers, underpins a productive economy and drives opportunity. Collaboration between businesses and employers is fundamental to anticipating and responding to changes and emerging gaps in the labour market.
Education and skills policy underlies many of the country’s socio-economic aspirations. Driving a more research-intensive, innovative economy, improving social mobility and local growth, enhancing productivity, and ensuring better diversity and inclusion requires a higher education system that delivers the skills needed both for the current and future labour market.
Our Skills and Talent projects look at how universities and businesses can best work together to prepare students for the current and future labour market. We work to ensure that higher education is a route open to all and that we have the workforce required for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and an advanced knowledge economy.
