Our areas of focus

NCUB’s focus is on bringing together only the very best of the UK’s collaborative universities and businesses. Our membership is a collection of over 100 universities and corporate businesses across the UK, spanning a diverse range of sectors, technologies and individuals to tackle challenges under three broad themes:

People, skills and talent

We ensure that the UK's universities are delivering the skills that businesses require against a fast changing technological and market landscape.

Research and innovation

We shape the collaborative landscape in the UK to ensure that businesses leverage and support the research and innovation capabilities of the UK's universities.

Stronger places

We work with national drivers behind the devolution agenda, looking at the different ways localities are choosing to inhabit it, and how that agenda is shaped moving forwards.

These policy areas are supported by our members and our Leadership Council who champion and push boundaries in collaborations. Our network of influence extends way beyond universities and business and includes our partners in Government where we have strategic relationships and funding support through UK Research and Innovation, Research England as well as the Devolved Administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
