New review will allow university and business collaboration to reach full potential, says NCUB

Commenting on the Tickell Independent Review of Research Bureaucracy, Dr Joe Marshall, Chief Executive of the National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB), said: “We welcome the publication of the Tickell Independent Review of Research Bureaucracy. Excessive bureaucracy hinders collaboration between universities and business and limits the potential of the research system to deliver innovation that drives improved economic, social and health outcomes. We particularly welcome the Review’s recommendations to encourage both greater experimentation and greater standardisation where appropriate in funding application processes. This will reduce bureaucracy, increase efficiency and lower the administrative burden for applicants.”
