How to get a job

Here at the National Centre we understand just how daunting it can be to look for your first job after graduating, so we've joined forces with our business and university members to help provide you with the resources, advice and information you need to be well on your way to finding the right career for you.

There are so many options out there for UK students and recent graduates, graduate job vacancies have been predicted to rise by 17% which is great news if you're on the look out right now. We're here to help you get a job, get a placement, get advice and most of all we want you to get in touch with us and your peers to tell us how you're doing and if you need any more help.

We've searched high and low and asked all of our members for tips and advice that will help you find the job you're looking for.

Our business members share what they're looking for when hiring graduates. This is your chance to hear straight from the people who'll decide whether to give you a job or not.

When you're looking for a graduate job, it can be hard to stay positive. To keep you going, these graduates share the stories of how they got their job - and how we can learn from their experiences.

In this section you can find all the information on placements - and how to find one that will benefit you in the long-term. So what is a placement? From better paying jobs to higher marks at Uni, find out all the reasons why you should consider getting a work placement while you are at university.
