Degree apprenticeships are co-designed by employers and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The programmes involve a combination of vocational and higher education learning, in which both academic and occupational proficiencies are tested, and for which the attainment of a degree is an integral part of the course.
The landscape has changed considerably since the commencement of degree apprenticeships in 2015 and the introduction of an Apprenticeship Levy in 2017.
This briefing has been updated from an earlier report published in 2016 and includes input from BIS, HEFCE, UVAC, UUK and NCUB colleagues.
