Taskforce membership images webIn July 2020, the National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB) was asked to launch a new Taskforce to advise on the future of UK Research and Development (R&D). The Taskforce, requested by UK Research and Innovation, will consider how partnerships between universities and businesses can be strengthened and maximised to drive growth and prosperity.

The Taskforce will meet for the first time today, Friday 14th August, with a further two meetings to be scheduled in September and October. Supported by four advisory groups, the main Taskforce group is bringing together senior leaders from across industry and academia.

It will help the country recover economically and delivering the Roadmap’s long-term and important ambition that will have very significant implications for universities, businesses and the country as a whole.

In October 2020 NCUB will submit a formal report with advice and recommendations to UK Research and Innovation.

Through September, NCUB will be organised a series of events and opportunities for NCUB members to feed into the Taskforce and shape the recommendations back to UKRI. If you would like to get in touch to discuss the Taskforce, please email us via rdtaskforce@ncub.co.uk.
