In this report, NCUB highlights that a failure to start improving the way in which girls and young women are encouraged to study in subjects like physics, mathematics and engineering reduces the size of the talent pool and potentially jeopardises the international competitiveness of engineering and manufacturing in the UK.
The 2014 report is part of the Talent 2030 Dashboard, which sets out serious targets and recommendations for Schools & Colleges, Universities, Government and Business to be achieved by 2030. Key findings for 2014 include great progress at GCSE level, but a disappointing decline of females in relevant subjects at A Level and undergraduate.
