This is the first of two reports which share the key findings from a survey of over 4000 students from 20 English universities conducted by NCUB with support from Compass Group. Part 1 primarily focuses on student views on the quality of careers and employability support, and feedback on part-time work, work experience, placements and internships.

The report finds significant variance in opportunities for work experience across subject areas. Students studying subjects aligned to medicine, veterinary sciences and education are much more likely to undertake work experience than others but there is variation among other subjects too with just 19% of history students taking up a placement compared to 31% of those studying engineering.
