NCUB sent members of the House of Lords this briefing ahead of the Committee Stage of the Skills and Post-16 Education Bill.

While there are many positives with the Bill, with its focus on lifelong learning and employers being central part of the skills system, there are several aspects that need clarity. In this briefing, we ask peers to support amendments that would prevent unnecessary restrictions to the Lifelong Loan Entitlement. We also ask peers to support amendments ensuring that the Office for Students’ proposed minimum standards for courses do not adversely affect universities with higher intakes of diverse students.
