“I am shocked and saddened by the terrible news of the sudden death of Professor Patrick Johnston, Queen’s University Belfast’s Vice Chancellor. I offer my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences.
I knew him for a relatively short while as co-chair of the National Centre’s Task Force but I knew he was a terrific person, with a first rate mind, good grace and humour. Here and elsewhere he made a fantastic contribution to university business collaboration. It says much about a man that his involvement with our Task Force came from his genuine desire for patients to have the best quality of life possible.
He will be missed.”
