NCUB welcomes new Science Minister

The National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB) welcomes the appointment of Andrew Griffith as Minister of State for the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

Griffith must seize this opportunity to build on the work of his predecessor George Freeman MP who was a strong advocate for UK research and innovation. He must understand and build on the need to make the UK a science superpower. His experience as Economic Secretary will allow Griffith to hit the ground running and we hope, to understand the importance of university-business collaboration. Strong university-business collaborations are needed to meet our economic challenges and skills shortages, and to capture the opportunities facing the UK and the world over the coming decades.”
