Driving more effective intersectoral career mobility for researchers is vital to maintain a world-leading research and innovation (R&I) system in the UK.

NCUB’s 2023 Researcher Career Mobility Taskforce brought together senior leaders from industry and academia to make ambitious recommendations to create a more interconnected and dynamic research workforce.

This report marks one year since the publication of Pathways to Success, the Taskforce’s final report. It aims to build on the context and case for action for intersectoral mobility presented in 2023, and provide new insights on the state of intersectoral mobility in 2024.
