This report sets out the findings of the Council for Industry and Higher Education (now NCUB) Task Force on Manufacturing and Engineering Talent, focusing on core challenges necessary to lay the foundations for highly-successful, richly-innovative, globally competitive businesses by 2030.

Presented in the report are three potential scenarios of varying optimism regarding the future of recruitment in the fields of manufacturing and engineering as well as some core conclusions to consider, including the importance of career guidance at school level for girls and hard-to-reach groups, mentoring schemes, placements and internships and a fresh new language to describe the kinds of talents needed.
