The State of the Relationship 2025 includes a new NCUB global benchmarking framework.
The framework proposes a multi-dimensional approach, organised around three complementary pillars that capture the breadth of how universities and businesses collaborate to drive innovation and competitiveness:
- Investment capacity and attraction reflect both the structural foundations that enable a country to host and sustain R&D investment, and its ability to convert this capacity into realised inflows
- Skills development and outcomes recognise that collaboration is not only about ideas and capital but also about people.
- Research Partnerships focus on the collaborative generation and diffusion of knowledge.
