The Office for National Statistics have released the UK’s expenditure on R&D for 2019. The new data shows that R&D expenditure in the UK was £38.5bn in 2019, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Increasing by 3.3% from 2018, this represents the lowest level of growth in percentage terms since 2013. Public R&D funding was £10.5bn in 2019, 7% higher than 2018, while £28bn of UK R&D expenditure was funded by private sources in 2019, a growth of 2% from 2018.
