Researcher Career Mobility Taskforce
The exchange of knowledge and skills across sectors is vital in creating a dynamic research and innovation system. The Taskforce explores how greater movement of researchers between sectors can have a positive impact on economic growth.
NCUB launched the Researcher Career Mobility Taskforce in February 2023. The Taskforce report and recommendations were subsequently published in September 2023, with additional evidence reports.

The exchange of knowledge and skills across sectors is vital in creating a dynamic research and innovation system. The Taskforce brings together leaders from academia and industry to explore how greater movement of researchers between sectors can have a positive impact on economic growth.
Endorsed by Research England and supported by UKRI, the Taskforce will develop the evidence base around the shape and scale of researcher mobility in the UK, assess the barriers and motivations individuals face and promote best practice across sectors.
