Kingston University is the largest higher education provider in South West London, with more than 20,000 students enrolled on full and part-time courses. The Government’s latest research evaluation exercise – the Research Excellence Framework 2014 – rated 60 per cent of the University’s research as world-leading and internationally excellent.
The latest Higher Education Business and Community Interaction Survey 2014/15 reported that, for the 6th time, Kingston had the highest number of graduates starting up their own companies of any institution in the United Kingdom. The University helped 371 entrepreneurial graduates get their companies off the ground in 2015 meaning that Kingston University students set up one in 10 of all graduate start-up businesses in England last year.
A new report published this year by BiGGAR Economics shows that Kingston University is making a substantial economic contribution to the local borough, London and the UK as a whole. The report found that, in 2014/15, Kingston University generated an estimated £921.1 million Gross Value Added (GVA) and supported 12,500 jobs throughout the UK.
Developments in teaching, learning, research and facilities have all contributed to positioning Kingston University at the heart of education and economic development in the region.
Kingston University teamed up with Fulham Football Club to launch a partnership that will inject extra energy into a range of sport and education initiatives.
