Commenting on this week’s announcement of new research investments worth more than £500m from HEFCE, businesses and other organisations, David Docherty, Chief Executive of the National Centre for Universities and Business said:
“I am delighted that eight of the nine funded projects involve our members, and we look forward to these terrific partnerships delivering significant impact on the economy and society.
“As our Task Forces and evidence demonstrate, the excellence of the UK research base is reflected in the attractiveness of this country to research investors and talented individuals.
“To further simplify how businesses can connect with UK universities we continue to work with HEFCE and the Research Councils on developing Konfer, a digital innovation brokerage tool, and the Smart Specialisation Hub to support local innovation. These will continue to support partnership investments across the UK.”
